I originally found this recipe on allrecipes.com, but it quickly became a family favorite. If you are looking for a delicious side dish, you should definitely give this recipe a try. Enjoy!
Ingredients • 4 pounds russet potatoes, cut into 1/4 inch cubes • 2 teaspoons chili powder • 1 teaspoon salt • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper • 6 tablespoons butter, cubed • 1 (8 ounce) package shredded colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend • 1 (8 ounce) bottle Ranch dressing
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. 2. Place the potatoes in the baking dish. Season with chili powder, salt, and pepper. Evenly distribute the butter over the potatoes. 3. Cover dish with aluminum foil, and bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until potatoes are tender. Remove from oven, and mix in the cheese and Ranch dressing. Continue cooking 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

I'm not really sure if anyone has noticed (probably not most of you), but I haven't really been giving my blog as much attention as it deserves lately. At the risk of sounding like a huge complainer, I have not felt very well and my blog has been left to crumble. Sure I post a recipe here and there, perhaps offer you all a giveaway once week, but things aren't what they used to be. I look at the computer with dread because it is just one more thing that I have to deal with. I want to type, I want to write, but some days I just can't stand the pain that comes with it. Thankfully, Cheryl has joined Between the Lines and has been taking many of the reviews off my hands so that I can type less. It has been very difficult for me to step back from the blogosphere, but honestly the headaches from the glaring computer screen and the pain shooting up my arms from typing make it a lot easier.
I would really hate for Between the Lines to fall under water completely, so if there are any aspiring writers out there with interesting stories to tell, recipes to share, or reviews to give, please shoot me an email (betweenthelines-kam at hotmail dot com). And for those who have been loyally following my blog for the last 2 and a half years, thank you for your support and sorry for going M.I.A.
Is your marriage important to you? Do you work daily with your spouse to maintain a close a loving relationship? A solid marriage happens when both parties take that time to work on each day. However, if one of the parties is gone from the home for an extend period of time, it makes it that much harder.
It is never easy having a family member in the military. And it is even harder when that someone is your spouse and they are deployed over seas. I have always been a part of a military family, but have been fortunate enough that my spouse and my father have never seen the front lines. Other members of my family, however, have fought bravely for our freedom numerous times. Being away from your family under such circumstances is hard on the marriage. In fact, military divorces have increased 41% since 2001. Hopefully, the number won't increase with our soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. "With the The Art of Marriage Ops blog app we all can help the men and women who have defended our country strengthen their marriages!" Here is what is has to offer:
Spread The Word! Did you or someone you love serve in the military? Help us spread to word and share the app on your Facebook or Twitter! Use hashtag #marriageops ! The more people who realize this is an issue, brings us one step closer to helping more families!
